Fraud Notification Fee

Date: Nov 28, 2013

Effective December 2, 2013, the following documents will be charged a $7 fraud notification fee to support the Real Estate Fraud Prosecution Trust Fund:

  • Deed
  • Quitclaim Deed
  • Deed of Trust
  • Notice of Default
  • Notice of Sale

In addition, pursuant to Government Code Section 27297.6, the Assessor’s Identification Number or numbers that fully contain all or a portion of the real property is required on the documents mentioned above.

This new fee is being implemented pursuant to Senate Bill 62, which was passed by the California Legislature and added to Government Code Section 27387.1.
