Amendment of Fictitious Business Name Statement and Statement of Abandonment Forms

Date: 1 1, 2013

Pursuant to the enactment of Assembly Bill 1325, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk has amended its Fictitious Business Name Statement and Statement of Abandonment forms.

The Bill changed the references of ‘husband and wife’ to ‘a married couple’ and ‘parties to the marriage’, effective January 1, 2013.

In accordance with the aforementioned changes, effective March 18, 2013, we will no longer accept Statements with a revision date prior to 1/1/2013.

Please be sure to submit the amended forms which can be found on our website at, to avoid any delay in the processing of your Fictitious Business Name Statement or Statement of Abandonment.
