ATTENTION

Effective January 1, 2014, AB1053 authorizes an increase for a certified copy of a birth, marriage and death certificate. The fees are as following:

Birth from $23.00 to $28.00
Marriage from $14.00 to $15.00
Death from $16.00 to $21.00


ATTENTION

California Environmental Quality Act document fees will increase effective January 1, 2014, pursuant to Fish and Game Code §711.4(b) and 713 as follows:

  • Negative Declaration and Mitigated Negative Declaration - $2,181.25
  • Environmental Impact Report - $3029.75
  • Environmental Document prepared pursuant to a Certified Regulatory Program - $1,030.25

 

This Web Page contains information regarding various fees charged for copies of records and materials available from the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.

Costs are adjusted periodically to comply with state legislative mandates and county administrative reviews of fee schedules. The fees listed represent costs for routine processing of requests. There may be instances when an additional amount is charged for special processing and handling.

It may be necessary to complete a department contract form to purchase or rent computer tapes, cartridges and certain printed materials.

Recorder employees who accept documents for filing and the required fees are not authorized to provide any legal advice pertaining to the recording transactions. (Government Code Section 24004)

A $33 charge will be made for any check submitted in payment of a fee that is returned because of insufficient funds. (Government Code Section 6157)

Uncompared copies of documents filed will not be returned by mail to the sender unless a self-addressed, stamped envelope is provided for that purpose.
